Youtube Video Freezes Audio Continues in Fullscreen
I found a workaround. If you make the external screen your main display, it starts to work. Switching the main display back to the internal screen doesn't seem to break it, either.
(My system: Using Edge, extended desktop, both laptop and external monitors are 1080p.)

Any update on this issue? I have the same problem and have been trying many things to work around it, so far David's solution is the only one that worked. Is this OS-related, Display Card-related, or software-related(browser/video player)?

It must be somewhat displaycard related. I recently changed from a gtx 1080 to an rx 5600 xt. Not even a full windows reinstall and clean drivers have fixed the issue. Prior to changing graphics cards I didn't have this problem.
In both cases I've had my secondary monitor running from my onboard GPU. Using the brave browser.

This worked but I hope there is a reason for this or a software fix as we don't know what's causing the issue and its annoying.

I have a laptop with a GTX 1660 graphics card and it was doing the same thing. I could actually move the youtube video screen from one to the other and it would only work on the laptop screen, but freeze when I put it on the second monitor.
I opened the NVIDIA control panel and clicked on setup multiple displays. Only one display was showing, but I think I clicked it and unclicked it or something and now it works. Maybe it's just that I opened the control panel. Either way, try this maybe it will work for you.

I have the same set-up except mine is GTX 1650, I found the display in NVIDIA's control panel but it had no effect on the problem :/
